Berhampur: Seven Persons Arrested for Bomb Hurling, Assaulting Man 

Berhampur: Seven persons have been arrested by Berhampur Police for allegedly hurling and assaulting a man.

The accused persons have been identified as K. Suresh Das@ Sushil Das(20) of Birakrushna Chandrapur village, N. Kiran Kumar @ Rana (26) of Ambikanagar, 2nd lane, PS-B. Town studying law in Lingraj Law College; Radhamadhaba Sahu(66) & Baishnaba Sahu(59); Ajit Ku. Sahu, all from Birakrushna Chandrapur village, PS-Nimakhandi; B. Basu Reddy(46) of Pettu village, 1st lane, PS-Jarada and Bidya Das @ Rabi Das(42) of Baulajholi village, PS-Sadar.

As per police, on the evening of December 26, one Babula Sahu was proceeding to his house in Birakrushna Chandrapur, accused persons Alok Sahu and two others with an intention to kill him hurled two bombs and attacked using sword, resulting in severe injuries. The injured was shifted to MKCG intially and then to Bhubaneswar AMRI Hospital.

During the course of investigation it was ascertained that, there was previous enmity between the accused persons and the injured.

Alok Sahu with an intension to kill Babula Sahu and his brother Bulu Sahu arranged his associates came to village armed with bombs and sword at about 8.30 p.m. attacked the victim, his brother Bulu Sahu escaped and ran way but the other two accused. persons Alok Sahu and Anil assaulted him by means of sward resulting severe bleeding injuries on his head, legs, hands. At that time the accused persons Radhamohan Sahu, Baishnaba Sahu, and their sons namely Ajit Sahu and others instigated the Alok and Anil to kill Babula Sahu. When the villagers arrived the accused persons proceeded towards the house of Bulu Sahu and hurled two Bombs with an intension to kill Bulu Sahu due to which his house door was damaged.

Based on the report of Rashmita Sahu, W/o Bulu Sahu another case vide Nimakhandi P.S. case No-394/23 u/s 341/294/114/195-A/307/506/34 IPC R.W. Sec. 3/4 E.S. Act has been registered against the accused persons.

Investigation of the case is in progress and other accused persons will be arrested soon, said Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
