Cuttack: In a major development, the Cuttack district administration has said no to Durga puja in mandaps and pandals in Cuttack in view of Covid-19.
This has been informed by district Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
He , however, clarified that that individuals can celebrate the festival in their homes.
In another separate development related to Durga puja, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Orissa High Court on seeking its intervention to allow Durga Puja celebrations with Covid-19 norms this year.
Cuttack Balu Bazaar Puja Committee has filed the petition and pleas the HC to allow organization of community festival keeping in view the 500-year-old tradition.
