Malkangiri: In a major breakthrough for the forces in the Swabhiman area of Malkngiri, based on specific information, a joint team of SOG/DVF and BSF recovered a Maoists hideout of AOBSZC from Arapadar-Andrapalli of Swabhiman Anchal. Ammunition including 148 rounds, 14 grenades, 2 landmines intended to be used for carrying subversive actions against innocent civilians and security forces were recovered.
In a press note, Malkangiri police informed that on the basis of specific information received, an intensive search and area domination was conducted in this area resulting in uncovering of one major Maoist hideouts and dumps.
This is a major jolt to the subversive and anti-national designs of Maoists in this area. We are suspecting that these arms and ammunitions belonged to the Maoists cadres of AOBSZC. In the wake of the recovery, further combing and search operations are going on in this area.
Recently, DG Police Abhay along with Director Intelligence R K Sharma and IG Operations Amitabh Thakur had visited the Swabhiman area and reviewed the security arrangements after the setting up of the Company Operating Base there.
