BJD Members Express Gratitude to CM Naveen Patnaik for Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Gopalpur NAC

Berhampur: The members of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) from Gopalpur Assembly constituency have expressed their deep gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for approving a major proposal for construction of 89 multi-purpose indoor stadiums in the State, including one in Gopalpur NAC.

The BJD members lauded the step of Chief Minister and said that it will go a long way in strengthening sports infrastructure in their area.

The Odisha Government has announced to construct 89 Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadiums under “Urban Sports Infrastructure Development Project” at a total project cost of Rs 693.35 crores. The stadiums will be completed over the next 18 months.

One of the stadiums will be constructed in Gopalpur NAC. The stadium will have facilities for playing Badminton, Table Tennis, Yoga, Gymnasium, etc. The indoor hall space can be utilized for most of the indoor games and can be converted as per the local popularity of various indoor sports. The indoor stadiums are also designed to with stand 200 kmph wind speed.

Explaining the decision as historic, the members of Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) from Gopalpur NAC said that the project will nurture the sporting talents at the grassroots level and ensure transformation of the sports scenario in Gopalpur constituency.

The BYJD members had organized a special function to thank the Chief Minister for the step. Gopalpur NAC BYJD president A. Janaki Ram and other BJD leaders were present on the occasion.
