Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal, one of the largest regional political parties in India, will observe its 25th Foundation Day across the State today.
The BJD, founded on December 26, 1997 based on the ideologies of legendary leader Biju Patnaik to take Odisha on the path of development while fulfilling the aspirations of the people, has completed 24 years in the political history of Odisha.
It is a major achievement for any political party to complete 24 years in service of the people.
Led by the most popular mass leader and the longest serving Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the BJD has been relentlessly working for the transformation of the State.
The BJD has fought for the people of Odisha at every front and it will continue to serve the people. 4.5 crore people of Odisha has reposed their strong faith and unwavering support for the BJD since the day the party was formed, Naveen said in an earlier message to the party leaders and workers.
The regional party, which is based on Biju Babu’s ideologies, has been constantly striving to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Odisha. The BJD has become a people’s party, with the dedication and hard work of countless party leaders and workers from village to town, he said while urging the party workers to continue their same spirit of work for the welfare of the people of State.
The BJD will observe the Foundation Day extensively at the Panchayat, Block, and district levels.
Naveen will attend the function at the party head office here in the evening and address BJD workers and leaders.
