Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is taking a significant step towards ensuring safe and hygienic septic tank cleaning services in the city. Citizens can now avail these services hassle-free by dialing the toll-free number 14420 or through the “SAFA Bhubaneswar” app.
The BMC is actively engaged in various initiatives to manage fecal waste efficiently. It is crucial for residents to utilize services provided by registered agencies for septic tank cleaning and fecal sludge disposal. The corporation strongly advises against seeking services from untrained individuals or agencies. Stringent actions will be taken against unauthorized cleaning of septic tanks or cesspool services.
The BMC boasts its own dedicated cesspool vehicles and a skilled workforce, ensuring a safe and efficient disposal process at a minimal cost. The workers involved in this process are equipped with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including kits, gloves, masks, safety caps, and boots, to guarantee their safety and hygiene.
Citizens have the convenience of booking septic tank cleaning services by simply dialing the toll-free numbers 14420 or 1929 or through the user-friendly “SAFA Bhubaneswar” app. Additional Commissioner Shri Subhendu Sahu has instructed all zonal deputy commissioners, ward officers, Sanitary Inspectors, Swachh Supervisors, and BMC staff to actively raise awareness about this initiative.
Choosing safe and registered services not only ensures the well-being of our citizens but also contributes to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in our city, the BMC said.
