Boudh: Treasury Official Caught Red Handed Taking Bribe from Retired Employee

Boudh: An official in treasury office in Odisha’s Boudh district was today caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe from a retired employee.

The accused was identified as Narayan Mallick, who is working as Accountant, District Treasury Office, Boudh.

Mallick was caught red handed by anti-corruption officials led by Addl. SP, Vigilance (Berhampur) Santanu Padhi while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from complainant Brajabihari Meher near the front gate of the District Treasury Office.

Mallick demanded the money to process and pass bill of Rs 5,79, 813 towards unutilized leave salary of Meher, who has retired as Progress Assistant of Harabhanga Block in the same district in November 2016.

Mallick will be arrested and forwarded to the Court. Search of his office, residential house at Purunakatak and paternal residential house at Phulbani are going on, informed Vigilance, Berhampur Division.
