Bhubaneswar: A team of Odisha Police has rushed to Raipur in Chhattisgarh to assist the victims in the tragic road accident that claimed seven lives and injured several others.
“As per direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, we are in touch with senior police officers of Chattisgarh police regarding unfortunate road accident”, informed DGP Abhay.
An Odisha police team under SDPO Padampur is rushing to Raipur to assist Police authorities, he said.
Seven injured persons are being treated in Raipur Medical College Hospital. Post mortem of seven dead persons will be done soon.
The remaining 59 labours are safe and under care of Raipur administration and police, he added.
Earlier today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief at the tragic death of 7 persons of Ganjam district in a serious road accident in Raipur Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the CMRF to the next of the kin of the deceased.
Naveen also announced free medical treatment to the injured and wished their speedy recovery .
