Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC), Odisha today directed that no campaigning will be allowed after 5PM of March 22 for the urban elections in the State.
The Commission has written a letter to Collectors of all districts in this regard.
“No person shall convene, hold or attend any public meeting in any polling area during the period of 48 hours preceding the hours the hour fixed for the closure of the poll any election in that polling area”, the letter reads.
The Commission has directed that any public meeting and campaigning in any mode shall be stopped at 5 pm of March 22 positively.
Notably, the urban elections will be held across the State on March 24.
