Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the newly constructed bridge over river Mahandi in Cuttack district.
The Gopinathpur-Baideswar Bridge over river Mahanadi is the longest bridge of the state and spans 3.4 kilometers. It has been constructed with a cost of Rs 132 core. Construction for the Bridge started in 2014 and now has been opened for vehicular traffic. This is also the first T Bridge of the state which will reduce the distance by 45 kilometers and help in furthering the development of the local areas.
With the inauguration of the Bridge, a long pending demand of the local people has been fulfilled and more than five lakh people will get direct communication benefits.
Works Minister Prafulla Mallick, Badamba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Banki MLA Debi Ranjan Tripathy, former MLA Pravat Tripathy, 5T Secretary V K Pandian, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayini, Cuttack Rural SP B Jugal Kishore were present during the inaugural ceremony.
