CM Naveen Patnaik Speaks to President-Elect Droupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today spoke to President-elect Droupadi Murmu and wished her on behalf of the people of Odisha.

The Chief Minister said that the people of Odisha are very proud of her achievement.

Earlier on Thursday, Naveen has congratulated Murmu for her historic victory in the Presidential election.
“It is indeed a very proud moment for everyone in Odisha that she has been elected for the highest office in the country”, the CM said.

“Her journey from a humble beginning to become the First Citizen of the country is indeed inspiring and her journey is a shining example of women empowerment. Wish her the very best for a fulfilling tenure ahead”, he added.
Odisha’s daughter of soil Droupadi Murmu on Thursday scripted history by becoming the country’s first tribal President defeating opposition nominee Yashwant Sinha.

Incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind’s tenure ends on July 24.

The Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana will administer the oath of office to Murmu under Article 60 of the Indian Constitution on July 25.
