New Delhi: Actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar, who resigned from Congress, joined the BJP at the BJP headquarter on Monday in Delhi. Sundar joined the saffron outfit in the presence of Tamil Nadu unit president L Murugan and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra.
The developments come ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections that are slated to be held next year. According to local reports, Kushbhu was upset that she was not given a ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and BJP has promised her to provide a seat in the 2021 assembly elections.
Khushbu, in her resignation letter, thanked Sonia for the opportunity given to her to serve the nation as the national spokesperson of the party. Khushbu joined the Congress in 2014, having earlier been a member of the DMK from 2010.
