Coronavirus Update: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Issues SOP to Control Spread of COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of suspected Coronavirus cases are on rise, the Bhubanrswar Municipal Corporation has issued a compehenshive Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) to fight COVID-19.

In order to prevent spread of COVID-19 continuous efforts in all sectors is very much needed, said Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary.

Chairing a meeting with the authorities of private hospitals, owners of hotels and tutorials in the city, the BMC Commissioner laid emphasis on the ‘All For Help’ to curb the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Presenting the ‘Odisha COVID-19 Regulations, 2020’ which was issued by Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt of Odisha, Public Health Director, Dr. Ajit Kumar Mohanty said:

1. Separate wards and beds for COVID-19 at all hospitals (Govt & Private).

2. Examination history and detailed reports.
Reports of persons suspected to be affected.
Address/History of identified persons.

3.Information on persons who have a travel history of 14 days.

4.Restriction on dissemination of information without the permission of the Health Dept.

5.Spreading of misinformation is punishable.

6.Testing to be done as per the guidelines of the Indian Council of Medical Research.

7.Maintain social distancing and inform the control room of the Health dept.

8.No govt official can take leave without prior permission

The hoteliers have been asked to keep an ample amount of hand sanitisers and facilitate a limited number of guests.

Persons suffering from cold and fever have been advised not to take part in functions and to provide mobile numbers and travel details of foreign tourists, Besides, the BMC will also generate awareness on Coronavirus through public announcements.

This apart, if any suspected person is noticed in the hospitals, it has been directed to first inform Public Health Director and BMC.

Besides, the open gyms in parks will also be closed from Monday.

While there will be no bookings of BMC Kalyan Mandaps, if private Mandaps book functions they will have to adhere to the SOP. The coaching centres have been also issued notices to stop classes.

Moreover, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will open a special COVID-19 cell from Monday which will remain open from day to evening to address the problems related to coronavirus.
