Khordha: In a bid to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, the Khordha district administration has declared complete shutdown in its Sub-division till June 30.
The shutdown will remain in force for 16 hours between 2 PM and 6 AM everyday, said District Collector Sitanshu Rout.
The order will be enforced in areas including Khordha, Begunia, Bolagarh, Banapur, Tangi and Chilika.
However, the areas in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation have been excluded from the shutdown.
The step was taken in the wake of increasing number of Coronavirus cases in the sub-division in the past few days.
As per the order, only medicine shops and petrol pumps will remain open. And, construction and other industry works will be restricted from the 16-hour shutdown till June 30.
The people will be allowed to buy essential items from 6 AM to 2 PM daily during the shutdown.
