COVID-19: Odisha Govt Grants Commuted Leave to Employees Aged Above 50 without Medical Certificate

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today decided to grant commuted leave to the employees who are above 50 years of age and having underlying conditions without production of medical certificate as part of the preventive measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19.

In a notification, the General Administration and Public Grievance Department said that the officials who are above 50 years of age and have underlying conditions like diabetes, respiratory problems, renal diseases, heart diseases and other life threatening illness can take commuted leave for a period up to April 4 without production of medical certificate, so as to avoid unnecessary burden on the health care system.

This instruction will be applicable to all State Government organizations including autonomous bodies/ statutory bodies, PSUs and Corporations, the notification said.

Earlier, the State Government has allowed the employees who feel unwell due to symptoms of Coronavirus to leave work place and avail home quarantine for a period of 14 days.
