COVID-19: Odisha Govt Imposes Temporary Restrictions for Social Distancing at Public Spaces

No Congregation of More Than Seven People is Allowed at Any Place

All Stand-alone Restaurants, Bars, Coffee Shops, Canteens, Eateries Closed

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today imposed several temporary restrictions for ensuring social distancing in an effective way to minimize and contain the spread of COVID-19. 

Elaborating about the restrictions, Odisha Government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi said that these restrictions are purely temporary in nature and will be reviewed on a dynamic basic and suitable moderation shall be exercised depending on the situation.
As per decision, all stand-alone restaurants, bars, coffee shops, canteens, eateries of all kinds where large number of people dine and congregate are to be closed immediately until further orders.

Further, all hotels are directed to maintain a social distance of 2 metres among guests in their in-house restaurants.

All hotels and restaurants are advised to encourage the customers/guests to take takeaways.

All public transports including taxis and auto rickshaws on hire inside the city limits of all the Urban Local Bodies will be regulated to allow them on alternate days.

All markets, shopping complexes, village heats etc. will be regulated to allow only sale of food items including groceries, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, egg and other essential conveniences and daily need items.

No Congregation of more than seven people is allowed at any place.
