COVID-19 Positive Cases Rise to 5,865 in India, Death Toll Surges to 169

New Delhi: With the addition of over 500 new cases in last 24 hours, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India surged to 5,865, while the death toll has risen to 169 in the country since the virus outbreak, the Union Health Ministry data reveals. 

Out of all the cases, 5,218 are active. Further, the number of patients who have been cured, discharged or migrated is 478. Cases have been reported from 31 states and Union Territories so far.

Globally, the death toll surpassed 88,965 and the number of infections crossed 1,524,833, according to the Worldometer website.
