COVID-19 Update: Odisha’s Active Caseload Crosses 5000 Mark with 1897 Fresh Cases

Bhubaneswar: In tune with the national and global trends, Odisha today reported a sharp increase in the number of fresh Covid-19 infections. In the last 24 hours, the state has reported 1897 new cases of this infectious virus.

Khordha district with 669 new cases tops the list followed by Sundargarh with 262 cases. Cuttack reported 148 and Sambalpur reported 125 new cases of Covid-19 infections. Balasore and Jharsuguda have reported 100 and 66 new cases respectively.

Of the 1897 new cases, 258 cases belong to the 0-18 years of age. 1106 of the new infections are from quarantine and 791 are local contacts. The total number of infections in the state has reached 1059773 ans number of recovered stood at 1045514.
