Crime Branch Team Reaches Berhampur to Probe into Alleged Job Fraud by Akash Pathak

Berhampur: A Crime Branch team has reached Berhampur city in Odisha’s Ganjam district to investigate alleged job fraud by Akash Pathak, son of suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak.

The two-member SIT team of the Crime Branch reached here this morning to probe into alleged fake recruitment by Akash Pathak for Tata Motors.

Around 68 candidates, who had appeared for interviews and cleared, are under scrutiny of both Vigilance as well as the Crime Branch, according to sources.

Earlier, Tata Motors had issued a clarification mentioning that the arrested IFS officer Abhay Kant’s son was not a bona fide employee of the company.

The company had also filed a complaint with the Crime Branch after it came across information that Akash Kumar Pathak was impersonating as Managing Director (In Charge) of Passenger Vehicle division at Pune.

The Crime Branch is investigating the matter based on Tata Motors’ complaint, according to reports.
