Bhubaneswar: The counting of votes for the three-tier Panchayat Polls have started at 231 Zilla Parishad seats on the third day today amidst tight security measures.
The Biju Janata Dal is making a clean sweep in most of the districts of the state and is leading in more than 85 percent seats that have gone for counting till now. The ruling BJD has already won in 518 ZP seats of the 585 seats declares till 9 am today. The BJP and the Congress have been able to win just 31 and 29 seats respectively.
Independents and others have won seven seats till now. The vote counting is continuing on the third day.
