De Paul School Berhampur Welcomes CISCE’s Decision to Cancel Class 12 Board Exams

Berhampur: De Paul School, Berhampur has welcomed the decision of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to cancel the ISC Class XII examination in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Talking to the newsroomodisha.com, Principal of De Paul School, Berhampur, Fr. Saju Antony CM said, “It is a welcome decision. Right now, priority is health. The tension of the students and parents is over. It is a big relief”.

“It is a very good decision that the students will get the results very soon. If there be exams, the results will be delayed by at least two months. Now they can apply for higher studies”, he said.

The CISCE on Tuesday decided to cancel Class 12 board examinations this year in view of the COVID-19 situation, according to its Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon.

“In view of the present situation of the Covid- 19 Pandemic in the country, the CISCE has decided to cancel the ISC (Class XII) Year 2021 Examination. The safety, health and wellbeing of our students, teaching faculty and all stakeholders is our topmost priority and of paramount interest”, a statement issued by Arathoon said .

The results will be processed on a mechanism which will also include the internal examinations conducted by the schools. The schools will be informed in due course of time, of this mechanism.

After the declaration of the ISC (Class XII) Year 2021 results, if some candidates are not satisfied with the marks awarded to them, the CISCE will give an option to such candidates to write the 1SC (Class XII) Year 2021 Examination at a later date, when the situation is conducive to conduct the same, the statement added.
