Death Threat to Odisha CM, Claims Anonymous Letter

Bhubaneswar: The residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar has received an anonymous letter, which mentioned that some contract killers have been hired to kill the Chief Minister.

They have been equipped with latest weapons like AK-47 and semi-automatic pistols. They are professional killers and can attack Naveen Patnaik at anytime, the letter stated.
According to the letter, the mastermind of the conspiracy lives in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The letter, which was received, further contains 17 vehicle registration numbers belonging to Delhi, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Haryana and Maharashtra, which according to letter, are being used by the contract killers to follow Odisha Chief Minister.
The State administration have been put on high alert after the letter was received.

Meanwhile, the Home Department has asked the Commissioner of Police to enquire into the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action.

“The security of the Chief Minister may be assessed and tightened at his residence, Secretariat as well as during journey to various places and functions if required,” Home Department said, in a letter to Commissioner of police.
