Dipil Ray Praises Naveen For Tourism Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: Former Union Minister and Hotelier Dipil Ray has praised Chief Minister Naveen for his pro active efforts to develop the tourism sector in the state. Speaking to a private TV channel, Dilip said the efforts of the state government to develop the tourism sector have been tremendous and the world today recognises Odisha as an ideal tourist destination.

Dilip said the hyperactive initiatives of the state government have helped the tourism sector grow in the right direction. He said, “I have never seen such a push for tourism. Now everyone recognizes Odisha”. The organization of the World Cup Hockey tournament is a big thing. The world is now recognizing the state. The Eco Retreat program by the tourism department is really a great start. Tourism circles everywhere are talking about this. Government’s Puri beautification initiative is world class. In Amritsar, I have seen the peripheral areas of the Golden Temple. They have developed very well. Now the peripheral surroundings of Puri Temple are being developed into a world class place. A fine vision and passion is required for taking this kind of initiatives. The government of Odisha is on the right track.

In a Facebook post, Dilip said, the immense growth opportunities offered by this sector, it, unfortunately, remained a low-priority area at the policy level for long that hindered its growth prospects. However, this concern now stands redressed & I must deeply appreciate the notable efforts undertaken by the State Govt in the recent past to promote travel and tourism.

The breakthrough policy interventions to propel the expeditious growth of this sector will open new avenues of prosperity for our State while positioning it as the most preferred tourism destination of the country and gradually across the globe too.

Dilip is the former Union Minister for Steel and has business interests in the tourism and hospitality sector. His Mayfair Groups has world class hotels in various parts of the state.
