Don’t Bring Workers from Outside State or Hotspot Areas of Other Districts: BMC

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure public safety and to contain the spread of COVID-19 virus in the Odisha Capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked the business organisations not to bring labourers from outside the state till July 31.

The BMC asked the business houses like industrial, construction, hotels/hospitality, contractors (Both Government and Private) not to bring any worker/labourer from outside the state to its jurisdiction area till 31st July 2020.

They are advised to utilize the locally available resources for the time being.

In case some of them develop any symptom, then their test should be conducted by the business owner at their own cost and they should inform BMC about the result.

In a notification, BMC said, “In  case the business establishments wish to bring workers/labourers from other part of the state then also they shall avoid bringing any work force from hotspot districts e.g..Ganjam. Gajapati, Balasore, Cuttack and Jajpur and prefer from non hotspot districts till 31 July 2020. However the same principle of 14 days quarantine and testing strategy mentioned above shall have to be followed.”

Any deviation in this regard by any business establishment shal be vigwed seriously, said BMC.
