Bhopal: In what could become a big embarrassment for Bhartruhari Mahtab, the MP from Cuttack, his, 34 year old daughter-in-law Sakhsi has filed a dowry harassment case against the family including Bhartruhari. The complaint was filed at the Women’s Police station in Bhopal on Wednesday and a case under IPC Sections 498 (a), 506 and 34, and provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered. Sakhsi’s mother-in-law and husband are the two others named in the complaint.
Sakhsi has alleged that the Mahatab family was given Rs 1.5 Crore as dowry in 2016 during her marriage but they were demanding more money. She also alleged that she was subjected to torture and was thrown out of the house in Cuttack.
