Sambalpur: Dr. Lalit Kumar Meher has been appointed as the new director of of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla.
Previously, Dr. Meher was serving as the dean and principal of Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital, Balangir.
His new appointment is for a term of three years from the date on which he assumes charge or till he attains the age of 65, whichever is earlier, an official release said.
Notably, the post of director at VIMSAR had been lying vacant for more than a year after Dr. Aswini Pujahari resigned on February 9, 2019.
