Berhampur: Foot patrolling was conducted by all police stations of Berhampur Police district to maintain law and order for the peaceful celebrations of Durga Puja.
The comprehensive foot patrolling aimed at crowd management, facilitate smooth traffic flow, and maintain law and order throughout the Durga Puja celebrations in Berhampur and other areas of the police district, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.
The police foot patrolling has been necessitated in view of huge turnout of people at the puja pandals in various places in the Berhampur Police district.
The various police stations such as Badabazar, Town, Gosaninuagaon, Nimakandi, BNPur ,Patrapur, Chikiti and Digapahandi have conducted the patrolling at puja pandals, market places and busy areas to prevent pickpocketing, snatching and other unlawful activities.
All officers including SDPOs, IICs, Sis and ASIs were part of the patrolling teams.
The Berhampur Police has made
elaborate arrangements for the peaceful celebrations of the Durga Puja festival by the people.
Earlier, Berhampur SP urged the different puja organizers to follow guidelines for the celebrations of Dussehra.
