Dutee Chand Clinches Gold at Khelo India University Games

Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter Dutee Chand clinched a gold medal in women’s 100 m event at the Khelo India University Games here on Saturday.

The 24-year-old sprinter, who is representing the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), completed the race in a record timing of 11.47 seconds.

Dhanalakshmi S from Mangalore University came second completing the race in 11.99 seconds and Sneha SS from Mahatma Gandhi University clinched the bronze with a timing of 12.08 seconds.

Odisha’s ace sprinter will take part in the 200 metres on the final day of the Games.

Around 4000 athletes from approximately 200 universities across the country are participating in the Khelo India University Games.
