FIR Against Aparajita Sarangi For Hurting Religious Sentiments

Baripada: An FIR has been filed against Bhubaneswar Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi in Baripada Town Police Station for hurting the religious sentiments by stepping on an image of Lord Jagannath. The incident has enraged the Sebyatas and common people both as it happened on the Holy day of Nagarjuna Besha of Lord Jagannaath. Baripada, well known s the second Srikhestra was celebrating the rare event of Nagarjuna Besha after 26 years.

Social worker Arun Kumar Behera has filed the FIR after the incident was witnessed in front of the Collector’s office where a group of women had drawn the panting of the trinity in Muruja to celebrate Nagarjuna Besha.
The MP had to face the brunt of the common people instantly and left the place. According to the complainant, she did not even offer her apologies for her act which has hurt the religious sentiments of Jagannath devotees. He has asked for strict action against the Member of Parliament. Sebayata Mahasangha president Kameshwr Tripathy has also reacted sharply and demanded action.
