Gauhati : Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday, informed State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. He was 84.
The veteran Congress leader had been undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for post-Covid complications.
Gogoi had served as the Chief Minister of Assam from 2001 to 2016. He was the longest serving Chief Minister of the State.
