Berhampur: Ganjam District Congress Committee on Sunday welcomed the ruling BJD government’s quick action against the controversial Gopalpur MLA Pradeep Panigrahi.
Addressing media here in city, the district Congress President Ramesh Jena alleged that Pradeep Panigrahi has links with the sand mafia, morum Mafia’s and liquor traders in the district.
He further alleged that Panigrahi used to collect Rs. one crore black every month from different sources.
“During last 16 years as MLA, Pradeep Panigrahi has mis used his power and amassed wealth illigally.”, Jena said.
Welcoming the govt’s action against Pradeep Panigrahi, Jena further alleged that he is a shareholder in a powerplant in Uttarakhand and it has to be probed.
