Government Declares Closure of Educational Establishments

Bhubaneswar: In view of the Cyclone FANI getting stronger and nearing the coast, the state government has declared that all educational establishments in the state to remain close from tomorrow. All the examinations scheduled have also been cancelled and will be rescheduled.  They would remain closed till further orders of the government.  

The decision has been taken keeping in view the Cyclone which has become Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm. The MET department has issued a RED warning in 17 of the districts in Odisha. The coastal districts of Odisha along with three northern districts of Andhra Pradesh have also been out under Red Alert. 

The Cyclonic Storm FANI is expected to cross the landmass anywhere between Puri and Balasore in the Odisha coast in the afternoon of 3rd May. Wind speeds are expected to be around 180 kmph to 200 kmph when the cyclone is going tohit Odisha coast.
