Hockey World Cup: STAMP 3.0 Campaign Launched to Beautify Bhubaneswar  

Bhubaneswar: Odisha, the sports capital of India, is gearing up to host the FIH (International Hockey Federation) Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023.

Bhubaneswar, being one of the two cities to host the mega sporting event, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday launched the STAMP 3.0 campaign to beautify the capital city to give a pleasant experience to the hockey players, sports lovers, and other guests during the World Cup.

The campaign has been launched by BMC Mayor Sulochana Das in the presence of Deputy Mayor Manjulata Kanhar, BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange and others.

Under the campaign, the painting of city walls will start from tomorrow and will end by the end of December. Theme-based paintings will be done as per the inputs and suggestions received from citizens, the BMC said.

The World Cup will be organised from January 13 to 29. Sixteen teams will participate in the prestigious world tournament and 24 matches will be played in Bhubaneswar.

The BMC has taken up several beautification projects like revamp of roads, plantations, painting & art on roadside walls, illumination of all major buildings and squares, cleanliness drive, removal of hoardings, and improvement of medians and barricading.
