Bhubaneswar: The regional center of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here today issued thunderstorm and rain alert for eight districts in Odisha.
Thunderstorm, lightning and light to moderate rainfall are likely to occur at one or two places in districts such as Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul and Mayurbhanj, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre forecasts.
The met department also predicted gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to prevail in these places today.
The weather condition in the districts is likely to remain till 7 pm today.
