India’s COVID-19 Death Toll Crosses 80,000, Caseload Surpasses 49-lakh Mark

New Delhi: The total number of coronavirus cases in India have jumped to 49,30,236 after a single-day spike of 83,809 of new positive cases of COVID-19, as per the data given by the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll related to the virus in the country has surged to 80,776 with 1,054 deaths in the last 24 hours.

While total recoveries have reached 38,59,399, the number of active cases stands at 9,90,061.

The Indian Council of Medical Research has said that 5,83,12,273 samples have been tested in India for Covid-19 up to September 14.

Globally, there are nearly 3 crore coronavirus case and death toll crossed nine lakh, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.
