Industry Leaders, Experts Laud Odisha’s Skilling Ecosystem 

Bhubaneswar: Industry leaders and experts attending the Odisha Skill Conclave 2023, which kick-started here today with a strong note, have lauded the skilling ecosystem of the State.

The first of its kind Odisha Skill Conclave has brought together industry leaders, experts and learners from the industry. The Conclave highlighted that Odisha is ready to take on new challenges and empower the workforce of tomorrow.

The industry leaders and experts have lauded the Odisha Government’s initiatives for strengthening the skilling ecosystem of the State.

“The commitment of the Odisha Government towards skill development, shows that Odisha leads the path in skill industry by handling the challenge and responsibility of training the youth”, said J.D. Giri, VP, Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd., at the Odisha Skill Conclave 2023.

Ashok Ramachandran, CEO & President, Schindler India expressed that the Odisha Government trains youth with skills from grassroot level with technical and soft skills and apprenticeship programs help students be holistic, not just technical.

Odisha has one of India’s first Skill Development institutes which is doing a commendable job in training youth. It focuses on bridging the skill gap, stated S.P. Gathoo, Former Dir. (HR), Bharat Petroleum.

“Odisha has incorporated right policies and implementation strategies to facilitate the skilling ecosystem. It gave us the scope to work with women at grassroot level”, said Kanta Singh, Dy. Rep., UN Women India Office, at the Conclave.

The dynamics of skill ecosystem are changing rapidly in Odisha after the inception of OSDA. The recognition of skilling faculties and students is a commendable model, expressed BV Sudharshan, Dy MD, NTTF, Bangalore.

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the Odisha Skill Conclave 2023 this morning.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Odisha has kept a budgetary provision of Rs 100 crore for this year for the new scheme Nua Odisha to train one lakh youths in future technologies like cloud computing, artificial technology, data sciences, and other futuristic knowledge.
