IPL 2020: CSK vs SRH – MS Dhoni Fails to Finish Game for Chennai Super Kings again and Results Hattrick of Losses

Dubai: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by seven runs in the 14th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. Abdul Samad was one of the three young players who were instrumental in fashioning the Hyderabad victory.

SRH won the toss and got off to a horrendous start after Jonny Bairstow lost his wicket without troubling the scorers. When they stumbled after electing to bat, the brilliance of Priyam Garg (51 off 26 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (31 off 24 balls) helped string a stand of 77 runs that enabled Hyderabad to reach 164.

Chennai’s chase never really got going after Shane Watson fell early. Faf du Plessis kept the chase alive but was run out. A 72-run fifth-wicket partnership between Ravindra Jadeja (50 off 35 balls) and Dhoni (47 off 36 balls) brought CSK back into the match and raised visions of a dramatic finish. But after Jadeja’s exit, Dhoni couldn’t work his magic.

SRH spinners, specially Rashid Khan deserve the credit for the win. The Afghan was, as usual exceptional, as he choked SK with his well-measured deliveries. He did not get a wicket but conceded only 12 runs his four overs.

It was third defeat in a row for CSK in four matches, one of the worst starts for the three-time champions.
