Sharjah: Delhi Capitals (DC) produced an all-round show with bat, ball and in the field to register a 46-run win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 23rd match of the Indian Premier League 2020 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium
RR captain Steve Smith won the toss and decided to field first. After this, DC lost 8 wickets in 20 overs and scored 184 runs for the victory against Rajasthan. Shamron Heitmeyer was the top scorer for Delhi with 45 off 24 balls. Marcus Stoyanis scored 39 runs, Shreyas Iyer 22 runs, Prithvi Shaw 19 runs, Akshar Patel 17 runs and Hershal Patel 16 runs.
Joffra Archer was the top wicket-taker for RR with three wickets. Joffra Archer took three wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Karthik Tyagi, Andrew Tye and Rahul Tewatia took one wicket each.
RR got off to a bad start. Jose Butler came back with just 13 runs. Successful Jaiswal tried to recover the team, but he was also dismissed for 34 off 36 balls. Steve Smith returned with 24 off 17 balls. Sanju Samson was dismissed for just 5 runs, Rahul Tewatia for 38 runs and Mahipal Lomror for just one run. Rajasthan Royals were all out for 138 in 19.4 overs.
Kagiso Rabada was the top wicket-taker for Delhi with three wickets. Rabada took three wickets for 36 runs in 3.4 overs. R Ashwin and Marcus Stoyanis took two wickets each.
The DC have dislodged the Mumbai Indians (MI) to take the No.1 spot in the IPL 2020 points table after their comprehensive victory against RR.
