Dubai: Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Anrich Nortje, who has been consistently clocking good pace this season, created a new record by bowling the fastest delivery in the history of the Indian Premier League against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2020 on Wednesday.
The South African speed merchant clocked 156.22 kmph or 97 mph against RR opener Jos Buttler in the third over of the Royals’ run-chase, which was scooped for a four by the right-hander. Interestingly, Anrich Nortje bowled the second and third-fastest delivery in IPL as well after recording a pace of 155.21 and 154.74 respectively.
With this, Nortje broke compatriot Dale Steyn’s record of the fastest delivery in IPL history of 154.40 kmph. The veteran fast bowler had set the record while playing for Deccan Chargers in 2012.
