Jagannath Temple To Open For Devotees From Tomorrow
Puri: The Puri Jagannath Temple will be opened for devotees from tomorrow. An SOP for this has been prepared by the temple administration in this regard. According to the SOP, the first two days will be reserved for the darshan of servitors and their family members. Initially the darshan timing will be from morning 7 am to evening 7 am. People belonging to puri will be allowed to have darshan of the deities from 16th August to 20th August.
Common darshan for all devotees will commence from 23 August with strict adherence to Covid-19 norms and protocols. Importance will be given on maintaining social distancing and wearing of masks. Devotees are not allowed to touch the deities inside the temple premises. Devotees are also barred from taking flowers, diya and Prasad inside the temple. Earlier the temple administration had banned the use of polythene bags inside the temple.
There will not be any Darshan of the deities during the weekends during which the temple will be sanitized. The temple is closed for devotees since April 2021 and only a few servitors are allowed to perform the rituals.
