Jagatsinghpur: The Vigilance officers on Tuesday caught a Revenue Inspector (RI) in Jagatsinghpur district red-handed while accepting bribe from a person.
Samir Kumar Mallick, RI, Japa in Jagatsinghpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 10,000 from a complainant in order to favour him in a mutation case in Ersamma Tahasil.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the RI.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance has registered a case against Mallick and the investigation is in progress.
Simultaneous searches have been launched on properties of the RI at two places in Jagatsinghpur district, according to the Vigilance.
