Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the proposal of the Higher Education Department to rename Kalahandi University Bhawanipatna as Maa Manikeswari University Bhawanipatna. Goddess Manikeswari is the presiding deity of Kalahandi. It is worth mentioning here that the University was established in 2020 with 50 colleges under its jurisdiction. During his visit to Kalahandi District in November this year, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had promised to the people of Kalahandi to rename Kalahandi University after Maa Manikeshwari.
