Kandhamal: Junior Clerk Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe

Phulbani: Vigilance sleuths today arrested a junior clerk of Executive Engineer of Rural Works Division for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe.

The accused has been identified as Amulaya Kumar Sahu.

Sahu had demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 from Shankarsan Satapathy to process his file for the release of arrears of pension.

Satapathy had approached the anti-corruption wing and lodged a complaint.

A team led by Santanu Kumar Padhi, Vigilance Additional Superintendent of Police at Berhampur Division, laid a trap and caught the junior clerk red-handed while he was demanding and accepting the bribe.

Satapathy was working as a Roller Driver in Rural Works Division, Phulbani and has retired from service on 31.05.2019 on superannuation.

A case was registered and a probe initiated.
