Keonjhar: The Keonjhar District Administration announced that 83 Multi Lingual Education (MLE) schools located in mining affected areas have been provided with ‘Local and Indigenous Knowledge Corner (LINK)’ with funds available under DMF Keonjhar .
‘LINK’ will empower the tribal children to develop self-respect and will aware them about rich heritage of their respective language and culture and will in turn ensure equitable quality education.
‘LINK’ places community identifiable items/antiques in MLE schools, which transports them to the lives and routine of any particular tribal community. Further, it provides a relevant curriculum which equips them with skills, knowledge and values which in turn build the children to help contribute to the society and take pride in their indigenous identity.
LINK will further boost their morale and help them contribute to the society and suggest innovations based upon their perspectives. It also help the children build cultural pluralism by developing understanding to know different indigenous communities.

‘LINK’ is therefore an attempt by District Administration to preserve the rich cultural heritage and promote cultural appropriate learning atmosphere as per the guiding principles of National Curriculum Frameworks -2005 & Norms of Right to Education Act-2009.
This was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik last month.
