Mumbai: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted in a hospital here today after she complained of breathing issues.
The veteran singer was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai after she complained of chest congestion, according to reports.
The hospital authorities say that she is under observation and her condition is currently stable, reports added.
Lata Mangeshkar is one of the best-known and most respected playback singers in India. She has recorded songs in over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages, though primarily in Marathi, Hindi, and Bengali.
She has been conferred with many prestigious awards including, DadaSaheb Phalke Awards and Bharat Ratna.
She celebrated her 90th birthday on September 28.
