Bhubaneswar: Lingaraj Temple will reopen for devotees from September 1 with strict adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines, informed the temple trust.
“The guidelines issued by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation in view of Covid-19 have been adopted at a meeting of the temple trust board on August 18 and decision has been taken unanimously to reopen Shree Lingaraj temple for public darshan from September 1,” according to the Lingaraj temple office.
Earlier, the BMC announced that a double dose vaccination certificate is mandatory for the devotees to enter the 11th century shrine.
Earlier today, a team of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) along with BMC Commissioner Sanjay Singh visited Lingaraj temple and inspected the condition of the 11th century shrine.
