Keonjhar: The Lord Jagannath’s Ratha Yatra chariot in Keonjhar district has received the Guinness World Records title as the largest Ratha Yatra chariot.
This has been informed by Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare.
“The largest Ratha Yatra chariot is 22 m (72 ft) x 14 m (45 ft) x 14 m (45 ft) and was achieved by The Executive Officer, Debottar, Keonjhar (India), in Keonjhar, India, on 2 August 2019,” according to the certificate issued by the Guinness World Records.
The Jagannath chariot of Keonjhar has also been adjudged as the tallest chariot with 72 feet height by India Book of Records, Asia Pacific Records, Global Records and Wonder Book of Records.
The mega chariot has 16 wheels, 8 axels, 7 floors at different heights, and 15 feet long Dhaja Bata.
Keonjhar celebrates Ratha Yatra every year by pulling the chariot of Sri Baldevjew on the Bada Danda.
Earlier on Friday, the Keonjhar district administration has announced to develop the Sri Sri Baldevjew Bada Danda, Keonjhar.
Development of the Grand Corridor is aimed at achieving improved aesthetic environment, organized spaces, safety & hygiene, and contextual rejuvenation, the administration said.
