Bhubaneswar: The Depression over west central Bay of Bengal intensified into a Deep Depression. It is likely to trigger heavy rain in South Odisha Coast.
According to IMD office, here in Bhubanrswar, the Depression is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross north Andhra Pradesh coast between Narsapur and Vishakhapatnam, close to Kakinada during the early morning of 13th October as a Deep Depression with wind speed of 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph.
Squally wind speed gusting to 70 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Odisha coast as the depression over Bay of Bengal intensified into a deep depression, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.
Under its influence, squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is prevailing over west central Bay of Bengal and along and off south Odisha coasts, and 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is also prevailing over northwest Bay of Bengal and north Odisha coast today, the Regional Meteorological Centre said.
Squally wind speed would increase becoming 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph over west central Bay of Bengal and 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph over adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, and along & off Odisha coast from the evening of 12th October till the noon of 13th October.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati and Ganjam, the agency said and issued Orange Warning for these districts
