Make In Odisha Conclave: JSW Chairman Announces Additional Investments of Rs 1 Lakh Crore In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: On the first day of the Make In Odisha Conclave 2022, the JSW Group has announced an additional investment of Rs 1 Lakh crore in the Odisha.

Speaking at the Conclave in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal has said that the group will invest about Rs 1 Lakh Crore more in Odisha for setting up a steel plant in Paradip and silicon metal plant to produce solar panels.

The group has already invested Rs 60,000 crore in the state.

He said, “We were amongst the first ones to tap in to the mines of Odisha and utilize the mineral resources. With current mineral revenue of Rs. 10,000 – 40,000 crore, we are sure that Odisha will one of the first states to become a trillion-dollar economy.”

He said that the state is progressing leaps and bounds in every sector be it healthcare or sports of governance. He said, “ The way Odisha is progressing is beyond imagination….Development of human resources…educating the people in the village….Government schools are better than the private schools in Odisha. The way healthcare is promoted is beyond imagination. It is the best state in promoting healthcare.”

Appreciating the transformation of the religious places in the state, Sajjan Jindal said “As a Hindu I feel very very emotionally charged to see what Odisha has done to rejuvenate the old temples in the state. A fabulous environment has been created. Every state must replicate this. Today, Naveen Babu is the king of Odisha and is rejuvenating the Temples.”
