Baripada: The Odisha Vigilance has unearthed property worth crores of rupees in possession of Santosh Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer at Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Baripada in Mayurbhanj district during simultaneous raids.
The vigilance officers have recovered cash of Rs 41.77 lakh during the searches at the properties linked to the ITDA engineer. It is one of the major three cash recoveries in the history of Odisha Vigilance.
During raids that were conducted till late on Thursday night, Rs 28,17,800 and 659 gms gold were recovered from Das’ house in Balasore, the Odisha Vigilance said.
Following assets linked to Sri Das have been unearthed so far:
1. Cash Rs 41.77 lakh.
2. Gold 659 grams.
3. One 4 storeyed building at Bargarh, Bhubaneswar.
4. One 4 storeyed building at Balasore.
5. One Flat at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
6. One semi finished building at Kalinga Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
7. Three plots at Balasore.
8. One four wheeler and 3 two wheelers.
Based on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Das, simultaneous searches were conducted by Odisha Vigilance at 11 locations in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Mayurbhanj on Thursday.
The searches are still underway, said the Odisha Vigilance.
